July Round Up

Posted by Veronica Drury on

Wow didn’t June just fly by !! Where did it go and what did you get up to?

Here at Simply Yarn and The Woolly Tap we’ve been kept busy by all our lovely customers throughout the month so Thank You from the bottom on our hearts ♥️

So what did we achieve in our new shop in the amazing Lakeside Studio that we were lucky to move to over a month ago now.

The Woolly Tap Hookers

The Woolly Tap Hookers continue to grow and grow. We meet every Friday between 10am and noon for all things crafty.  We welcome new members week on week and we all enjoy a coffee some cake and a natter.

As a group we like to do our own things but we also like to have a group project on the go.  This month we have been busy making our chains for Yarndale.

Coffee and Cake

During June we had our coffee machine arrive from Naked Bean Coffee. The lovely Stuart was very patient in training us and we have enjoyed all the practicing and coffee art we have tried to master.

Come and have coffee and cake with us soon!

What’s New in the Tap

So throughout the month we have had many deliveries but one special delivery certainly put a smile on Beth’s face.  She was so so happy and to be honest that’s what it’s all about being happy as we are never going to be millionaires selling yarn.

So Scheepjes has arrived both online and in the shop.

Check out Scheepjes Whirl and Stone Washed.

Up and coming Workshops

July's monthly beginners crochet workshop in was oversubscribe - such a fab afternoon teaching what we love. Some of the ladies from previous workshop came in to show us their makes

Don’t they look fabulous !!

Workshops planned can all be found on our Facebook Page The Woolly Tap or on Eventbrite.

Finished WIPs

Whilst on holiday I managed to get 3 WIPs finished but not quiet all I promised last month.

Above are my Coastal Crochet Cushions.  Patterns can be found on Esty Here.

I also managed to complete my Lighthouse wreath for my caravan that was designed by @lauralovescrochet.  Pattern can be found here.

I also completed my @attic24 summertime tins but haven’t quite had chance to photograph them properly.  So will photo for next month.

I am 2 border rows off finishing my Tropical Shores Blanket again by @coastalcrochet.  This was a FREE pattern and crochet a long.  Pattern can be found here.

Started WIPs

Being on holiday I just had to support the local yarn shop and here’s what I bought.

I think this may take sometime as it’s knitted 🙈

Again, a poor photo due to lighting but I hope to have a more professional picture for next month when it should be completed.

This is a @weewoolywonderful pattern that we sell again both online and in the shop.

and so that brings my little July update to an end.  I thought I would leave you all with a picture of one of the many beautiful sunsets we got to see whilst on holiday on the Llyn Peninsula.

Both myself and Beth hope you all have a fabulous August and we will catch up again at the beginning of September.

Lots of love

Veronica
