The Woolly Tap Hookers
Oh boy it’s been a hot month and with so many hookers now we decided it would be far too hot for everyone in the shop so we decided to host our Friday morning at the historic Marsden tenterposts.
The lovely ladies had their Ta-Dah moment with their Yarndale chains, which went off in the post for the forthcoming festival in September. Let’s hope we can find them when we attend.
During August we held a Beginners Mosaic Crochet Workshop hosted by the talented Jan from @colnevalleycrochet.
A lovely time was had by all. See the beautiful mosaic blanket kit that was for sale following the workshop. I think they may still be a couple of packs left.
We have got some great crafting workshops for you and your friends at The Woolly Tap in September and October:
Thursday 15th Sept 7-9pm. For the first time we are offering a Learn to Knit class for complete beginners. Taught by Debby Lomas.
Our popular Learn to Crochet is sold out in September, but will be repeated on Friday October 7th 2-4pm.
On Thursday 22nd Sept (2-4pm) we will be delighted to welcome Jan Davies (Colne Valley Crochet) back to The Woolly Tap to introduce some exciting Mosaic Crochet projects to those who have mastered basic crochet stitches. Perhaps you make some Christmas presents this year!
Places are limited and sold on a first-come-first-served basis so book early to avoid disappointment!
What's New in the Tap
This month has brought a few new packs which have all been popular. Some heading out to the US from the website.
On the 4th September starts our Remembrance Wreath 4 week Crochet along. This is designed by @lauralovescrochet. Only 2 packs left. Why not join us in the Tap on Saturday afternoons in September and have your wreath finished for November.
Another fab designer Sue Rawlinson of @sweetpeafamilycrochet released her pattern for the Tutti Fruitti Blanket. This has been a very popular pack.
First off my hook this month was my finished @attic24 Summertime Tins. There was so much yarn left over I managed to completed 4 lovely matching coasters and I start a WIP which is a giant Flora Tin (pics soon)
Any other News
During August it was great to see so many Granny Squares all around the world for World Wide Granny Square Day 2022. It was breathtaking seeing all the virtual blankets
Here’s some fab pics
This was our contribution to the day. Four coasters made from my left over yarn from my summertime tins. The pattern is called ‘Flora Granny Square’ and can be found on the Attic24 blog page.
As you can see it’s certainly been a busy month and September looks to be even busier so subscribe to our newsletter.
We have loved all that August had to offer and we would like to thank all our amazing customers that have visited us both online and in our shop.
Lots of Love
